Dogwood Trace Trakehners is a small breeding farm of Trakehner sporthorses located in Aberdeen, Mississippi. The mission of Dogwood Trace is to produce one or two quality foals each year. It is owned and operated by Glenn and Nancy Schmidt. "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

Spring 2013

  • Ellie gave birth to a black filly by Kougar von C on April 20. Find out more about Elisheba (aka Sheba) here!
  • Lots of new show results on Azzie and Laura! They continue to do well in the eventing and dressage world, including USDF wins in First Level tests and Freestyles! They are now qualified for the Regional Dressage Championships in October and the American Eventing Championships in September. Results and pictures here!
  • Dogwood welcomes Chance, an appaloosa in his teens who joined over the winter. Chance was the former show horse of Hannah Harrison (Elazarr's new owner). Pictures and more information coming soon!
  • It is with great sadness that Dogwood Trace Trakehners reports the passing of Ardriane (mother of Azzie). She was the first foal bred by Dogwood Trace Trakehners, and she will be missed. Her son Azzie will continue to carry on her legacy in the show ring and promote the Trakehner breed with his wins. Read more about Ardriane here.
